James Gay BSc (Hons) MCSP MAACP


James Gay – Physiotherapist

James graduated from the University of Southampton in 2008. After completing his core rotations with Solent Healthcare NHS trust, he specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He quickly gained a senior role within Southern Health Foundation Trust where he continues to work alongside this role. James is experienced at treating a wide variety of pathologies and has recently extended his scope by training to practice acupuncture. Aside from physio, James is a keen sportsman, and plays rugby for Tottonians RFC.

Sophie Chatwin BSc (Hons) MRes MCSP MAACP

Sophie Chatwin – Physiotherapist

Sophie graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2009 and completed her core rotations within Solent Healthcare NHS trust. Her career path has taken a slightly different route; as well as working as an outpatient physiotherapist, she has recently completed a masters degree in clinical research at the University of Southampton. Alongside her work with Novo physiotherapy, she works within the research team at Solent NHS Trust. This should ensure Novo stay at the forefront of evidence based practice. Sophie has a keen interest in spinal conditions and is also trained in acupuncture.

Tom Gray BSc (Hons) MCSP MAACP

Tom Gray - Physiotherapist

Tom graduated from Keele University in 2007 and also completed his core rotations in Solent Healthcare. Here, as well as musculoskeletal physiotherapy, he gained a special interest in Hydrotherapy and Rheumatology where he took up a senior position. He has vast experience in many rheumatology conditions, particularly Ankylosing Spondylitis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. He is also trained in acupuncture. Tom has recently returned from a sabbatical where he travelled extensively for six months.



Carly Derraven Bsc (Hons) MCSP SRP

Carly graduated from London Southbank UniversitAWAITING_IMAGE146y in 2013. Previous to this she gained 6 years of experience doing 1:1 personal training at an exclusive studio in Mayfair, following a degree from Worcester University in Sports Studies. Carly currently works for Southern Health NHS trust as a senior physiotherapist and specialises in sports injury rehab.

Outside of work Carly enjoys all things outdoors and active, including running, volleyball, horse riding and water sports!
